DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

The person driving a car that struck a DeKalb County school bus Tuesday afternoon said he didn't know what happened in the collision.

The driver suffered a broken arm and laceration to his forehead and had to be taken to the hospital. Some of the 20 students aboard the bus, all kindergarten to elementary school aged, were injured after a crash Tuesday afternoon.

The report also says the driver was traveling at least 71 MPH before striking the vehicle. 

The accident took place on Pleasantdale Rd. at Woodridge Way. The kids complained of minor injuries, according to the Public Information Officer for DeKalb County Fire Department. 

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital according to Fire and Police officials in DeKalb County. The students were triaged on-scene and treated there. 

A spokesperson with DeKalb County fire said that the vehicle was traveling fast and crashed into the side of the bus as it made a left turn.

Meanwhile, Chopper46 showed the students standing on the side of the road near the scene of the crash. A spokesperson with DeKalb County police said that all injuries were listed as minor complaints.
