ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Free Hugs Project, CEO, Ken Nwadike attempted to bring some joy to the Charlotte protesters and Police Officers.

The emotional video is linked here.

The project began in 2013 when Nwadike decided he wanted to dole out "free hugs" at the Boston Marathon.   He couldn't qualify so the next best way to spread knowledge about social issues, was to spread love to his fellow man.

The official stance of the group, according to its Facebook page is to spread love, inspire change and raise awareness of social issues.
