ATLANTA (CBS46) -

A Newnan woman is calling for an apology from Southwest Airlines and demanding a full refund, after a vacation to the Dominican Republic quickly turned into a nightmare.

Autumn Stevens told CBS46 initially, the vacation was picture-perfect, capped off with her surprise engagement.

"I was in shock," Stevens said. "And the next day we were supposed to leave, so it was like the perfect ending. So I thought."

Stevens said her flight back to Atlanta was canceled and she was put up in a hotel 45 minutes outside of the airport.

"There was bugs on the bed, mildew on the wall, blood on the floor," she said of her hotel room.

Then a day later, back at the airport, her flight was canceled a second time.

"We get on the plane, we're there for another hour," she explains. "The lights are coming on and off. Everything is shutting off. I'm texting my mom saying I don't want to be here, something's not right."

She was again sent to a hotel to spend another night.

Finally on her third flight, she left for Atlanta. Stevens said she missed three days of work and it could cost her a job. She recently started as a 911 operator for Fayette County.

"I will find out tonight if I still have a job," she said. "Or if it delayed my job, because I'm in training. I may miss tonight because I still have to get my kids situated. I have to get life situated again. It was really traumatic."

Stevens said she was promised compensation and vouchers for being delayed, but so far she said the airlines hasn't given her anything. She told CBS46 she is expecting a $400 voucher toward another flight. She wants a full refund for her family's trip, which she says totals $735.

"At least refund our ticket because of the money we had to spend that wasn't planned," she said.  "And an apology!"

CBS46 has reached out several times to SouthWest Airlines but so far the company hasn't gotten back to us.
