LOGANVILLE, GA (CBS46) -

A woman was shot and killed by police in Walton County on Thursday.

The shooting occurred along Escoe Drive in Loganville, which is about 36 miles east of Atlanta.

According to neighbors at the scene, the woman was kicked out of a house by her family weeks ago and returned Thursday with guns, which is when 911 was called.

"[Deputies] encountered the daughter with two guns in her hand," said a spokesperson with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. "Then they provided verbal commands, asking the daughter to drop the weapons. She did not comply with those commands. Following that, she pointed one of the guns at the deputies."

Walton County deputies eventually shot the woman. The incident is being investigated by GBI.
