Governor Nathan Deal and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed held a news conference Thursday to announce a $400 million expansion at the United Parcel Service distribution hub that will also create 1,250 new jobs.

The expansion is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2018.

When combined with the strong transportation connections and talented labor pool that Atlanta provides, UPS is building flexibility to meet the growing needs of our customers and our business in Georgia, and around the world.”

The company delivers packages in more than 220 countries worldwide and has over a quarter-million employees.
