STOCKBRIDGE, GA (CBS46) -

A man who tried to purchase a vehicle from a Craigslist ad is recovering from severe injuries sustained during the meet-up and he says he sensed the attack.

Bobby Doe says he made arrangements to meet with two people who were selling the vehicle in a Craigslist ad but when he got there, he was brutally assaulted. Doe says the suspects beat him and then pulled out a stun gun and shot him in the head with it more than 10 times.

Doe says he was purchasing the vehicle so he could attend a funeral in Savannah. He says he went to an address off of Oakwood Manor in Stockbridge for the meetup.

"Something kept ringing in my head that something wasn't right," said Doe "I thought it wouldn't happen to me but it happened to me."

Doe says he was robbed of $4,500, which took him about 2 years to save up.

"He (one of the suspects) kept brandishing the gun. I knew exactly what he was talking about. He was talking about the cash so I raised my hands in the air and told him you can have it," continued Doe.

Doe says he was assaulted afterward and even struck with a Taser gun to the head at least 10 times. Since the incident, Doe says he's had two back surgeries and now walks with a cane. He says there was little that he could do because one robber had a stun gun while the other brandished the pistol.

"I was hit with the taser probably about 10 times. He kept poking it in my head," said Doe.

Doe says he's finished doing business on Craigslist and warns others to make sure you're absolutely positive about the purchase you're going to make. Police urge those making transactions on Craigslist to do so in a public place, preferably a police station.

The suspects remain at large. If you have any information regarding the incident, you're asked to contact Henry County Police.
