ATLANTA (CBS46) -

If you're hitting the road -- or skies -- for Thanksgiving, a cold front moving through the eastern part of the country may slow you down!

Metro Atlanta on Wednesday

No significant weather is expected in metro Atlanta on Wednesday. Although a cold front will approach, much of the rain will stay north of Atlanta. There's a slight risk of showers after sunset Wednesday, but much of metro Atlanta will remain day. Even if there is a shower or two, it certainly won't slow you down if you're driving.

As a cold front pushes through the eastern part of the country, rain is expected from southeast Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi early, stretching all the way up to the Midwest the entire day.

Additionally, snow is expected in northern Wisconsin, eastern Minnesota and northern Michigan.
