ATLANTA (CBS46) -

A brother and sister collected coats and gave them away at the Georgia World Congress Center during a "Hosea Helps" event, Thursday.

“My sister asked me to come and help her the first year and we saw a little girl come up in the cold and she loved the coat that she got and it just kind of warms your heart” said Nathan Bailey, a volunteer.

Bailey and his sister, Melanie Bell, knew there would be a lot of people in need of coats at the "Hosea Helps" event.

Hosea Helps fed thousands Thanksgiving Day. Hundreds of volunteers helped feed people who may have not had a place to eat a Thanksgiving meal.

Melanie and Nathan parked outside the event and helped people find coats which fitted.

“I think we feel helpless a lot of times, but it's these small efforts and it kind of gets contagious,” said Bell.
