State office did not approve check solicitation to couple

HAMPTON, GA (CBS46) -

A Hampton couple received an unsolicited check in the mail and cashed it without fully realizing the consequences.

Better Call Harry profiled the couple, who wound up in heavy debt from high-interest loans connected to the check.

The check and the loan are legal, but we learned that the contract was never approved ahead of time by the Georgia Insurance Commissioner's Office.

Better Call Harry follows up on the case, which has brought the couple to the brink of bankruptcy.
