Remains of missing Gwinnett County mom Tosha Herrons found

LUMPKIN COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Human remains discovered by police in Lumpkin County are those of a woman who hasn't been seen since October of 2016.

Tosha Herron, 36, of Gwinnett County, was missing since Oct. 7, when she was on her way to the north Georgia mountains. Thursday afternoon, GBI confirmed remains found on Thursday are those of Herron's body. 

Herron's father, Keith Reed, found her crashed car on Oct. 12 along Highway 129 in Lumpkin County.

A search effort by the GBI, Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office and Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Rapid Response Team found the remains as well as a boot that matched a boot Herron was wearing at the time of her disappearance.
