Morning storms to give way to mild day

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA (CBS46) -

A line of storms moving through north Georgia Monday morning is being fueled by a cold front.

The storms are expected to push into West Georgia around sunrise, reaching metro Atlanta between 8-9 a.m., and moving through east Georgia through lunchtime. Severe threats are low once again, but a few storms could have gusty winds.

Skies will clear quickly from west to east and we will be left with a sunny, windy and mild day with highs in the mid-70s.

Sunshine and above-average temperatures are expected Tuesday and Wednesday, but a deep low-pressure system brings us lots of rain Thursday and much cooler temperatures as we head into next weekend.
