MARTA to feature local jazz musicians throughout May

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

MARTA stations across the area will feature live music from local jazz musicians.

In MARTA Jazz Mondays the organization said they'll feature the musicians every Monday in May from 3 - 5 p.m. at four of its rail stations.

MARTA's CEO Keith Parker said the rail system is committed to enhancing the overall customer experience with a "reinvigorated focus on the arts throughout the MARTA system."

"We are making an intentional push to explore innovative ways to transform the transit experience by introducing new amenities and options that engage our customers in a new way and creative way," Parker said, "This initiative is just one part of our larger arts program here at MARTA."

Local musicians will lead the diverse array of musical talent

    Towers High School in Decatur was locked down Monday after a staff member attempted to commit suicide. The incident occurred during second period at the high school, according to a letter that was sent to parents from DeKalb County Schools. Officials say the Level 2 Lockdown meant there was no movement in the building. A school social worker and school public safety officials were on-site.
