UGA football player Elijah Holyfield arrested on pot charge

ATHENS, GA (CBS46) -

Elijah Holyfield, a UGA football player, and son of famed boxer Evander Holyfield was arrested on marijuana possession charges, according to jail records.

Holyfield, an economics major, was arrested by University of Georgia Police early Monday morning and released the same day.

He was charged with possession and use of drug-related objects and possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana.

Holyfield played in five games in 2016, rushing four times four 27 yards against Ole Miss.
