A troubling trend has prompted at least one area school to warn parents about an online predator possibly targeting students.

Some students at the Westminster Schools in Atlanta are getting what officials say are unsolicited and inappropriate pictures through Instagram, believed to be from just one person.

CBS46 obtained a letter from the private Christian school sent home to parents warning them that Westminster and other area schools have been targets. School officials say some middle school students received pictures and picture requests through direct messaging from at least four different Instagram accounts.

CBS46 tracked down one of those accounts, a user named LongJohn319. The account had 92 followers but no posts. Westminster officials believe the same suspect may be responsible for creating the other three accounts in question.

We've reached out to school officials for an official comment but have yet to hear back. In the letter sent home to parents, leaders did say they do not believe the creator of the accounts has any kind of affiliation with the school.

The Atlanta Police Department says they are aware of the situation and are continuing to gather information.
