FBI to aid in investigation of couple murdered in Belize

The Atlanta mother whose son was killed in Belize says the FBI is assisting in the investigation.

Char DeVoursney tells CBS46 that she wants answers.

Drew DeVoursney and Francesca Matus went missing in Belize. Their bodies were later found in a sugarcane field.

DeVoursney's mother, Char, tells CBS46 her son was opening a dive school in Belize. He served two tours in the Middle East as a Marine. He was scheduled to return to Atlanta on Friday to attend a trade school.

She says she's grieving right now and wants justice for her son.

"I so much want them to find who did it and if they were hired to do it. It just baffles me because Drew was 6'6" and very strong, very athletic guy. For somebody to strangle him, I just don't  think it could've been one person," she said.

Belize authorities detained two men for questioning about the case, however, DeVoursney says they've since been released.
