COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Two arrests have been made after a deadly shooting outside a restaurant in Cobb County.

CBS46 reported as breaking news Monday that a man attempting to buy shoes from someone he met on the internet was shot and killed in a restaurant parking lot.

On Tuesday, CBS46 tracked down a witness who saw the entire incident. She said, from her perspective, the man who was shot appeared to be trying to steal the shoes from the seller.

It happened outside Carrabba's on Cumberland Boulevard in Smyrna.

Police said 27-year-old Mezaio Pickett died on the way to the hospital after being shot multiple times behind the wheel of his white SUV.

The witness, who asked CBS46 not to reveal her name, said right before the shooting, Pickett was trying on shoes. Moments later, she saw Pickett jump into the SUV with the shoes and attempt to drive away.  That's when the other man fired several shots into the vehicle.

She gave her statement to police at the scene, and the witness has no relationship with either of the people involved in the shooting.

On Wednesday, the Smyrna Police Department announced that Damien Scott was arrested and charged with homicide and aggravated assault. Vincent Brooks was also arrested on the same charges, according to authorities, who say Brooks was a party to the crime.

Police said no one involved in the transaction entered the restaurant. Several people who were inside the restaurant at the time of the shooting told CBS46, they did not realize what occurred outside until much later.

The part of Cumberland Blvd where this happened is a busy stretch of road, close to Cumberland Mall and I-285.

An e-mail from the Crimestoppers Tip Line said the web site used to arrange the sale is called "OfferUp."

There have been two other deaths in metro Atlanta stemming from online sales in just the month of May.

A woman in Lithonia was shot to death while trying to buy a smart phone. She and her husband had met someone at an apartment complex to buy a cell phone posted online. There is no suspect in custody.

Police haven't located a man who they said is missing and presumed dead after meeting someone in Atlanta to sell his pickup truck. They found his truck with blood in it at an area hotel.
