ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Governor Nathan Deal will appoint a committee to investigate the charges against DeKalb County Sheriff Jeffrey Mann after his arrest.

Deal announced Newton County Sheriff Ezell Brown, Peach County Sheriff Terry Deese and Attorney General Chris Carr will have 30 days to investigate the pending charges against Mann.

Both Brown and Deese are members of the Georgia Sheriff's Association.

An Atlanta Police officer reportedly saw Mann in Piedmont Park exposing himself and, after a chase, arrested him on Saturday night.

Mann, who was first elected sheriff in 2014 and served in the department since 2001, has been released from the Atlanta City Jail on bond.

The sheriff released a public statement through his staff in response to the accusation, writing that he "is working with City of Atlanta to clear these charges."
