Fire purposely set after man killed at Alpharetta home

ALPHARETTA (CBS46/AP) -

A man's body has been found inside a home following a fire in Alpharetta early Saturday morning and police believe the fire was intentionally set to cover up his murder.

The fire started around 1 a.m. at a home in the Berkshire Manor subdivision near Haynes Bridge Road in Alpharetta.

Multiple media outlets reports police say the man was killed before the fire started about 1 a.m. Saturday. Firefighters arrived and quickly extinguished the flames. That's when they discovered the body.

Police say they're treating this as a murder investigation.

The identity of the deceased in unknown at this time.

The cause of the fire is also undetermined.
