Man uses art to tackle social injustice, homelessness

Posted: Updated:

David WeeksNYC, MMG, Exclusive Game and Belair Rose partnered to feed 30,000 homeless members of the community during his Atlanta Installment of Bridging the Gap on Saturday at Exclusive Game HeadQuarters at 3255 Peachtree Rd NE.

Bridging the Gap is a Skateboard series that uses artistic expression to challenge the status quo while drawing from influential elements in the life of David WeeksNYC.

"Broken skateboards" take on a symbolic meaning, telling the story of an adolescent who was infatuated with the kick, push lifestyle, but was too big for the boards.

Now, 10 years later, those broken skate boards are helping reshape fashion and Bridge the Gap between Millennials, Creativity and Social Injustices.

Each event showcases three series of boards

  • Series 1: Boards Wrapped with David’s Social Injustices
  • Series 2: Boards Wrapped with Original David’s Fashion Designs
  • Series 3: Boards Wrapped with Luxury Taste Items

They invited all members of the community to help fill up a Lamborghini with hygiene products that can be handed out to homeless men, women and children during the #LunchBagChallenge following this amazing art installation.
