SOUTH FULTON, Ga. (CBS46) -

The funeral service for the 17-year-old high school student killed in a bus crash in South Fulton County will be held Monday.

Sarah Harmening was on a church bus that was traveling from Alabama to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for a mission trip in Africa.

The wreck is still under investigation; however, an initial report states the driver of the bus attempted to change lanes when it collided with the Chrysler which was already in the lane. The collision caused the bus driver to steer to the left which caused him to lose control. The bus then entered the uneven median and rolled over, and slid into the Mercedes that was traveling in the westbound lanes.

Harmening was pronounced dead on the scene. Thirty-nine of the passengers on the bus were taken to local hospitals after sustaining injuries related to the crash.

The funeral service for Harmening will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Huntsville. Visitation is at noon and the service is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
