ATHENS, GA (CBS46) -

The march to the championship may soon include a coke and a smile for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Archivist Justine Fletcher gave us a glimpse inside the corporate archive for one of the most famous brands in the world -- Coca-Cola.

"So this is our commemorative packaging aisle and we have bottles everywhere from Mickey Mouse to NASCAR," says Fletcher.

It’s a place very few have been before.

“This is one of our most important trays. This is Hilda Clark, and she was a vaudeville singer and she was our first celebrity advertiser,” says Fletcher.

It’s also a room rich in Georgia Bulldog history.

“The tray that I really want to show you is down here. It’s a Georgia Bulldog tray, and what’s so exciting about it is it came out in 1980,” says Fletcher. “And this is a 1980 Georgia Bulldog bottle for the national championship…What’s so significant about this is this is the first time we did a very special 10 oz. bottle for a sports team for a national championship.”

When asked about the value of the bottle, Fletcher said, “You know it’s really hard to say. It depends on what collectors are willing to pay for it. I believe this is a very highly-coveted bottle, especially by Georgia Bulldog fans. I’ve heard them go as high as $200 for a bottle.”

And if the Dawgs go on to win the national championship this season, Coca-Cola will produce commemorative 12-oz cans almost immediately. Plus, 8 oz. bottles to be sold at the beginning of next season.
