SOUTH CAROLINA (CBS46) -

A man responsible for a carjacking and stealing mail from mailboxes in Forsyth County is finally in police custody after evading law enforcement for more than nine months.

On Saturday morning the U.S. Marshall’s captured Marvin Lee Jenkins in South Carolina.

He had several warrants out for arrest including warrants from Fulton, DeKalb, Clayton, and Franklin counties.

In March 2017 Jenkins made headlines following a string of mailbox burglaries and a carjacking.

Police say Jenkins jumped out of the stolen car leaving his girlfriend behind to be charged with the crimes.

He was nicknamed “Pink Pants” after surveillance footage from a Waffle House showed him wearing pink pants as he waited for a ride.
