(Meredith) – A man who was recently released from prison on a technicality has been arrested again.
Michael McFadden, 46, had been sentenced to 300 years in prison for sexually assaulting six young boys and girls. He was released on a technicality after appealing his conviction and claimed that delays in his original trial violated Colorado's speedy trial statutes.
However, he was arrested again on Friday by police officers in Colorado Springs for failing to register as a sex offender in an unrelated case, Fox31 reported.
According to KKTV, McFadden was required to register as a sex offender "for a prior sexual assault on a child sentence in 1990," the news outlet reported. He failed to do so, so an arrest warrant was issued.
He is being held on a $1,000 bond.
