(PeopleTV/Meredith) -- Arie Luyendyk may have blindsided Bachelor fans everywhere when he said farewell to fiancee Becca Kufrin in favor of the show’s runner-up, Lauren Burnham, but he’s certain he made the right choice.
“It might not be the most popular decision, but for me, it’s so worth it. Because she is sitting next to me and we’re so happy,” he told People.
In his interview with People magazine, Luyendyk explained his rapid change of heart and how he convinced Burnham to give him a second chance. Backlash followed quickly behind the Bachelor’s reversal of course, but Burnham said yes anyway.
Concerned he was making the safe choice instead of the right choice, Luyendyk decided to follow his heart, he told People, and he has no regrets.
