The historic Concord Road covered bridge is closed once again after a truck hauling a Bobcat attempted to drive through the structure Wednesday morning.

The bridge has been closed for repairs several times in recent months after a ribbon-cutting reopening the bridge took place in mid-December. The one-lane bridge was originally constructed in the mid-1800s.

According to the Concord Covered Bridge website, the approximately $800,000, four-month rehab project included the installation of four steel reinforcement boxes, lateral supports and interior guardrail. The renovations began in early August.

Since its reopening, the bridge has now been closed four times due to accidents.
