KENNESAW, GA (CBS46) -

Two Kennesaw State football players were arrested following an investigation into an alleged armed robbery.

Kennesaw State Police tell CBS46 they have issued warrants for Akebren Ralls and Jai’len Edwards.

The incident occurred at the University’s Austin Residence Complex on Friday, April 13. Police say the parties involved were known to one another.

Both suspects are charged with accessory to an armed robbery and are being held without bond. Ralls, a fourth year student and Edwards, a second year student, were scholarship athletes. They have been dismissed permanently from the team for violating the team’s Code of Conduct policy.

“We are deeply disappointed in the actions of these two young men,” said Overton. “We are one team and one KSU. As such, it is a privilege to compete in intercollegiate athletics at Kennesaw State and we expect our student-athletes to represent the University, alumni, and supporters with the class, honor and integrity they deserve.”

Ralls and Edwards face other misdemeanor charges in addition to the felony accessory charge.
