Scattered rain and a few storms will continue in Atlanta throughout Monday and the wet weather that has already fallen has prompted flood watches and wind advisories across the northern portion of the CBS46 viewing area.

What to expect

It won't be a wash out, but waves of rain will continue to move through metro Atlanta and north Georgia. While it will be mostly rain, isolated storms will also be possible.

A wind advisory remains in effect for metro Atlanta until Monday morning. As of Sunday night, we've seen sustained winds of more than 20 mph. A combination of rain and gusty winds will increase the risk of trees coming down.

The wind advisory is in effect for the following counties:

Dade-Walker-Catoosa-Whitfield-Murray-Fannin-Gilmer-Union-Towns-Chattooga-Gordon-Pickens-Dawson-Lumpkin-White-Floyd-Bartow-Cherokee-Forsyth and Hall.

A flood watch also remains in effect for Atlanta through Monday afternoon. About 2 inches of rain will be possible in Atlanta through Tuesday with higher amounts in the northeast Georgia mountains.

The following counties are under a flood watch through Monday afternoon:

Dade-Walker-Catoosa-Whitfield-Murray-Fannin-Gilmer-Union-Towns-Pickens-Dawson-Lumpkin-White-Forsyth-Hall-Banks-Jackson and Madison.
