ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Governor Nathan Deal held a press conference Wednesday to unveil a new tip line app that will help people report crimes easier.

It's called "See Something, Send Something" and it's a way to report crimes. It allows the user to immediately send a text or a picture to state law enforcement. Once it's received, it is evaluated and sent to officers across Georgia.

The app is not to be used in an emergency as officials say you should still dial 911.

Governor Deal says they've used special software to ensure your information is kept anonymous.

″(The app) allows citizens to report suspicious incidents and activities to the Georgia Information Sharing and Analysis Center,” Deal said in a press conference. “There, analysts can evaluate, disseminate and request action from law enforcement agencies throughout our state if that becomes necessary.”

To get the app, simply go to your app store and search "see something, send something."
