Cell phone repair run around

Ashley Stinson is not a happy camper.

“If you’re not doing anything wrong, you shouldn’t have anything to hide,” Stinson said.

After dropping her cellphone, she contacted Elite Techs on Highway 92 in Woodstock for a quick fix. They sent her to their Kennesaw location on Moon Station Road.

"Something is going on here. Something is not right," said "It’s an Elite Tech store, yet the tech is never there.  You can’t get a hold of them, their website doesn’t work.  I started to read some reviews on line and realized I had made a mistake."

And after waiting a week without repairs, she took it to an apple technician at best buy who made the shocking discovery.

"He said basically your phone has been gutted," said Stinson. "The only option we have at this point is to trade it out for you with a brand-new phone. The camera was taken out of the phone, the Facetime camera, the receiver, the battery was disconnected."
CBS46 paid a visit to Elite Techs where Stinson said she had spoken with the owner James White.

During our visit, there was no manager on site.  we were told to call back and leave the business.

"Hopefully at some point I’d like to get something out of this or at least keep it from happening to somebody else," said Stinson.

Stinson did not pay any money up front, but she's out over a $1,000 when you consider her phone has been stripped and she has to pay hundreds of dollars for a new one.

CBS46 contacted both the city of Kennesaw and Woodstock and neither have a business license on file for the company.
