Nearly 30 displaced after fire at Gwinnett County townhome complex

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Several people have been displaced following a fire at a townhome complex in Gwinnett County early Wednesday morning.

The fire started just after 4 a.m. at the Castlegate Townhomes on the 1000 block of Level Creek Road in Buford.

The blaze is believed to have ignited inside an end unit of the complex and spread to other units. Everyone was able to make it out of the complex safely.

The complex sustained extensive damage. 17 adults and ten children have been displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Red Cross is assisting the affected families.
