2 Metro Atlanta high schools place in U.S. News and World Report Top 100 High Schools

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Two Metro Atlanta high schools placed in the top 100 high schools nationally in the newest rankings from U.S. News and World Report. 

Gwinnett School of Mathematics Science and Technology in Lawrenceville is the highest ranked school from Georgia, placing 31st nationally. DeKalb School of the Arts in Avondale Estates placed 75th on the list. 

The top of the list was dominated by BASIS Charter schools in Arizona, taking the top five spots on the list. BASIS is a charter management organization that operates tuition-free charter schools in the United States, with schools primarily based in Arizona. 

One other Georgia school, Columbus High School in Columbus, placed just outside the top 100 at 105.
