APD Homicide Unit investigating after two die in northwest Atlanta fire

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

A husband and wife are dead following a fire at a home in northwest Atlanta early Tuesday morning. 

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. at the home on the 2400 block of Harvel Drive near H.E. Holmes Drive. The area is near Frederick Douglass High School.

It is unclear what caused the fire, but the two deaths have been ruled homicides by the Medical Examiner's Office. The Atlanta Police Dept. Homicide unit is now investigating. The husband and wife were both victims of strangulation. According to the ME, each had strangulation marks around their necks. 

The victims were later identified as Harry and Deborah Hubbard. 

A vigil was held Tuesday night for the victims.
