LITHONIA, GA (CBS46) -

Several families have been displaced after a fire at a condominium complex in Lithonia early Monday morning.

The blaze broke out around 5 a.m. at the complex on Le Parc Fontaine. The area is near the intersection of I-20 and Panola Road.

When crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke and flames were pouring out of at least two buildings.

Shaquon Alston, who lives at the complex, and his roommate are being hailed as heroes after going to door-to-door to alert other residents of the fire.

"We're a community," said Alston. "I can't just save my life and forget everybody else's. I felt like it was the right thing to do."

At least four units were destroyed and 25 people in total have been displaced.

No injuries are reported.

The Red Cross is assisting those affected.
