ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Sandy Springs Police decided to increase the reward to $100,000 in the murder of a 71-year-old grandmother.

Family members found Kay Thomasson found stabbed to death in her Sandy Springs home nearly two weeks ago.

On Monday, the police held an emotional press conference, saying they really want to find the suspect.

"I want to give a lot of credit to the family to come forward and put a face on this crime for everyone to look at," said an officer. "We certainly believe it will be useful and help us in further investigating this crime."

Thomasson's daughter, Katie Gryglas, made a tearful plea asking anyone with information about her mother's murder to speak up.

"Our mom was such a loving member of this community. We know this is a community that takes care of its neighbors, and we're asking now to help take care of one that mattered greatly to us," said Gryglas.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
