DECATUR, GA (CBS46) -

A Decatur intersection is so dangerous that neighbors call it the 'intersection of death.'

They say drivers constantly run red lights at the intersection of North Decatur Road and Superior Avenue causing countless wrecks.

Police say there have been more than 30 accidents at this intersection alone, since 2012.

A man who's lived in the area for 10 years, sent CBS46 a picture of one those accidents. He says a few years ago, a bicyclist was run over and killed by a driver.

A memorial with his name, was later installed here.

"Someone started calling this the 'intersection of death,' neighbor David Slagle told CBS46 News. "A truck ran through this yard and just about took out a car. We've had two deaths related to this intersection."

The city of Decatur has drafted a transportation plan for the  area which includes widening the road and adding a turning lane.

Some neighbors still say they don't think that's enough to slow drivers down.
