SANDY SPRINGS, GA (CBS46) -

For more than 50 years, the real Sandy Springs Locksmith has tried to go about its business the right way.

But owner Burt Kolker knows it hasn't always been easy competing with the shady tactics of others.

An email that reads in part like this:

Hey there,

Hope you're doing great today.  We provide genuine 5-star Google and Yelp my business (map reviews).  These reviews would grow the credibility of your business amongst your customers.

We charge only $10 for Google and $20 for Yelp reviews.  The prices are negotiable for bulk review orders.

It says all the reviewers names would be American names like John, James, Mike, etc.

Looking forward to speaking with you soon.

So Kolker called the number on the email. The guy that answered said he was in India and would put together samples of his work to share.

"This is a practice that is illegal based on the laws," Kolker said.

He also said he's doing business with other companies in Georgia, but would not name them.

"It's not fair to my business and other businesses like me and this is not the only field that they attack," said Kolker.

So CBS46 reporter Adam Murphy decided to call and question the same guy. He asked,"Why are you selling reviews?"

He wouldn't answer the question, nor tell Murphy the name of his business and eventually hung up the phone.

"This is fraud and illegal," said Kolker.
