Nobody wants to get booted or towed when they park around Atlanta. A councilman says it's happening all too often because of a confusing parking sign. So, he wants to fix the problem and hopefully save you money.

City law requires the warning signs at every private lot, but people blow past them because they can't see them and there's a lot of clutter.

City councilman Amir Farokhi says even the booting companies think the signs are a setup.

The puzzling parking signs warn drivers about getting ticketed, towed or booted. Drivers say the awkward black lettering on a white background is confusing, making the signs not only easy to miss, but hard to read.

When reading the prepared to stand there for a minute or two.

"We figured one way we can make it a better experience for residents and visitors in the city is to make this sign clear, crisp and friendly," said Farokhi.

In June, he launched a design competition with the winner receiving $500. So far, at least 30 artists have made more than 200 submissions.

"We’re a city that draws people in from Chattanooga to London. Most people rent a car for better or worse, and they look for parking. The experience they have here shapes whether they come back," said Farokhi.

You have until Saturday to submit your design. Click here for more information.
