Flies, food on the floor and dirty drink nozzles: three health violations which inspectors found inside a metro Atlanta restaurant this week.
On Powder Springs Road in Cobb County, we tracked down the boss at El Patron Mexican Restaurant about its failing health inspection.
The Marietta restaurant scored only 40 points and a "U" for unsatisfactory.
The reports said there was black residue on the tea nozzles, plus there were several food items on the floor in the cooler and flies in the kitchen.
While visiting the restaurant, we asked Manager Adolfo Guerrero, if he'd addressed the fly issue.
He replied, "Yes, sir."
To prove the problem had been resolved, the manager took us into the kitchen. Ironically, that's where additional violations were found, such as a woman preparing food without wearing gloves.
Despite the issues stated in the report and witnessing an employee not wearing gloves, El Patron scored a 98 and an "A" in a follow-up inspection.
Here are some restaurants who received good scores:
At the legendary Silver Skillet on 14th Street in Midtown Atlanta, it’s like taking a step back in time.
They’ve been in business for 62 years, and it feels the same inside. Everything on the menu is made from scratch, so you know it’s absolutely delicious.
It’s one of the coolest diners around, and anyone who’s anybody has dined at this restaurant. Plus, there have been numerous movies that have been filmed here in this cool spot.
And here at the legendary Silver Skillet, they received a perfect 100 on their health inspection! They are this week’s Golden Spatula winner!
