Cherokee nonprofit gets kids back-to-school ready

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Summer’s almost over, which means back-to-school shopping is in full swing. According to the National Retail Federation, families will spend an average $684 on school supplies, per kid.

But not everyone can afford back-to-school basics. In Cherokee County, “Give a Kid a Chance” is a nonprofit making sure underserved kids are back-to-school ready so they can be set up for a successful school year.
