Police arrested Visheslav Feder three days after locating the body of a deceased woman who had been fatally shot in a vehicle in DeKalb County.

The 29-year-old was arrested in Johnson County, Arkansas by Arkanasa State Police. He is currently in custody in Arkansas and facing three counts of aggravated assault and on e count of felony murder.

Feder was said to have been traveling along interstate 40, however his destination is unknown.

The body of 25-year-old Avery Birthrong was found inside a car behind the BP gas station at the intersection of Hugh Howell and Stone Mountain roads on July 17.

According to the Gwinnett Police Department, the shooting happened in Gwinnett County, and the victim was then driven to the gas station in DeKalb County.

CBS46's Rebekka Schramm spoke with a woman who said the victim may have been killed over a $70 debt. LaShun Parks said her son is the boyfriend of the victim. She got a call from him early this morning. He was distraught, she said.

“He just said, ‘Mom, she’s gone. They killed her,'” Parks said.

At the scene, police questioned the boyfriend and his co-worker who both were with her at the time of the shooting. After the shooting, they apparently drove 1.8 miles to the BP where they parked behind the gas station and called police.

Police determine neither men were a suspect.
