The soccer world centers on Atlanta this week as the MLS All-Star game kicks off Wednesday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Atlanta United's Tata Martino will be the manager for the MLS team, and 5 players from United's roster will be playing in the match. That's the most from one club in all-star history.

The United players include:

  • Josef Martinez (Forward)
  • Miguel Almiron (Midfielder)
  • Ezequiel Barco (Midfielder)
  • Michael Parkhurst (Defender)
  • Brad Guzan (Goalkeeper)

"It's going to be an electric atmosphere. This will be the biggest crowd for an MLS game so we're setting another record here in Atlanta. It's going to be an amazing game," Atlanta United President Darren Eales told CBS46.

The MLS All-Star team will take on Italian powerhouse Juventus Football Club, who recently made news with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best soccer players in the world.

Soccer has taken over Atlanta for the past two seasons with the induction of Atlanta United, and one of team's most high profile rap artist fans is musical artist T-Pain.

The season ticker holder has snagged an opportunity to perform the National Anthem at the MLS All-Star Game in Atlanta on August 1.

“I am honored to perform the National Anthem to kick off the MLS All-Star Game presented by Target,” T-Pain said. “Thank you to Major League Soccer, the city of Atlanta, and all the fans.”

Events centered around the big game will also feature other well-known Atlanta rap artists. Waka Flocka will be a key figure at the pre-match weekend block party and 2 Chainz will be headlining a free concert in Atlanta’s Historic Fourth Ward Park.

The match is set for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1.
