ATLANTA (CBS46) -

The Atlanta Falcons have announced they've extended the contracts of General Manager Thomas Dimitroff and head coach Dan Quinn through the 2022 season.

Dimitroff has been with the Falcons since 2008 and has been nominated as Executive of the Year of the NFL twice by the Sporting News in 2008 and 2010.

According to the Atlanta Falcons website, 17 starters on last year's playoff team were either drafted or signed by the team as college free agents. Under Dimitroff's guidance, the Falcons advanced to Super Bowl LI, where they were narrowly beaten by the New England Patriots.

Quinn has been head coach since 2015 and led the Falcons to that Super Bowl appearance. He's made the playoffs in two of his three seasons at the helm and has yet to register a losing season as an NFL head coach.

The three year extensions were signed Wednesday morning.
