STOCKBRIDGE, GA (CBS46) -

A Stockbridge councilmember has become the newest member of the Georgia Municipal Association's Legislative Policy Council.

Hernitha "Neat" Robinson, who has been a Stockbridge resident for over a decade, joins the council that is responsible for assisting city officials in the legislative process.

Robinson says she is honored to receive the appointment and will make advocating for Stockbridge's citizens her greatest responsibility.

"I view this as an opportunity to give a voice to the people," said Robinson. "The legislative process is extremely important and certainly deserved our attention."

GMA Executive Director Larry Hanson says he looks forward to Robinson's contribution.

"Councilmember Robinson has extensive knowledge of both municipal issues and the legislative process, making her an outstanding candidate for the Legislative Policy Council," he said.

For more than 20 years Robinson worked in corporate America with extensive experience in sales and customer service. She also served DeKalb County as a corrections officer for three years, and dedicates countless hours to community services in Henry and Clayton counties.
