CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

A strange scene played out in the parking lot of the Clayton County Jail after a woman, who had recently been released from the facility, climbed a tree and wouldn't come down.

The woman, who the department says suffers with mental issues, climbed the tree upon release Monday night and refused to come down. Deputies tried to talk her out of the tree but she continued to resist and began to climb higher.

Deputies then realized that she was going to fall from a high distance and that's when they called the fire and rescue team.

One of the deputies told the woman he would catch her and in the video, you can see her crash down onto him.

The deputy sustained minor injuries and was treated by paramedics on the scene.
