DUBLIN, GA (CBS46) -

One Georgia school district is making news after signs were recently put up around school campuses.

The signs read, "Staff members are ARMED and TRAINED. Any attempt to harm children will be met with Deadly Force." The signs went up around schools in the Laurens County School District, three hours south of Atlanta in Dublin.

Laurens County School District Superintendent Dr. Dan Brigman confirmed the signs were real and said that signs were put up last week at all nine schools in the district. Laurens County Schools went back to school on Wednesday.

According to Macon, Georgia CBS affiliate WMAZ, the school board voted in April in favor of arming trained teachers.
