Detailed Text Forecast

Metro Atlanta

Wow! Sunshine and heat are what make our summers famous -- but this is getting dangerous. Day after day this past week we have been dealing with polluted air. Couple that with the fact that afternoon highs are in the 90s and there is no rain in sight - and you've got a receipe some pretty oppresive weather. Even into your Sunday evening -- way after dark -- it will still be warm. Overnight lows will only be dropping into the lower 70s. On Monday look for another hot and hazy day. Highs will be in the upper 90s and heat index values will be near 100. There is a CODE ORANGE SMOG ALERT as our stretch of dirty air continues. That means in the late afternoon and early evening, air quality will be unhealthy so try to limit your time in the outdoors.

Our next chance of rain will be isolated pop-up thunderstorms starting on Tuesday. It looks like a better chance of rain will be heading our way by mid-week.

Sunday Night: Still Quite Warm. Hazy w/ Lows in the 70s. Winds will be Westerly at 5-10 mph.
Monday: Hazy, Very Hot, and Humid. CODE ORANGE SMOG ALERT. Highs in the Upper 90s w/ Heat Index Values Near 100. Winds West at 5-10 mpg.
Monday Night: Partly Cloudy and Warm. Lows in the 70s w/ Light Winds.
