Chris Smith

Chris Smith is the weekend meteorologist for StormTracker 46 at 6 and 11 p.m. and reports on weather related stories during the week for CBS 46 News. Chris grew up in the Atlanta area. He loves the diversity here saying that there are so many more people now of different backgrounds and cultures than when he was young. Chris moved to Atlanta at a young age. His adolescent and teenage years were spent enjoying all Atlanta has to offer. He attended Brookwood and Lovett high schools before heading off to college in Tallahassee.

You can find Chris at a Braves game or attending one of the many events at the Fox Theater. He also enjoys the High Museum of Art and spending time outdoors doing any number of activities.

Staying close to home, Chris took his first job as the weekend meteorologist at WALB in Albany. From there he worked as the Chief Meteorologist at WMAZ and morning meteorologist at WMGT both in Macon.

During this time, Chris received both the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Associations seals of approval. Chris earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology at Florida State University. He interned at CBS 46 News. This helped set him up for his first job in meteorology out of college.
