Greg Majewski
Meteorologist Greg Majewski is the StormTracker 46 weather producer and field meteorologist for the StormTracker 46 Storm Chase Weather Van. He joined CBS 46 News in 2005.When it comes to precise weather forecasting, Greg brings with him expertise that can be attributed to his over ten years forecasting experience in Georgia.After receiving a bachelor of arts in communications at University of West Florida, Greg knew he wanted weather to be his main focus and enrolled in the Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University. Greg started his weather career at the Weather Channel as a radio meteorologist covering a wide range of weather events from blizzards to hurricanes. Here he found that weather is truly where he excelled so he made the jump back to television.Greg spent three years as the Morning Meteorologist at WJHG in Panama City. The experince he gained at The Weather Channel was very helpful during Hurricane Ivan. Greg and his weather team received the AP award for Best Spot News Coverage of Hurricane Ivan.
He is a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association (NWA). Greg holds the Television Seal of Approval from the AMS.Greg is a Major with the US Army Reserves and the Public Affairs Officer for the 335th Signal Command located in East Point. In 2003, he spent eight months on active duty in the US Army. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, he escorted media through the Iraqi terrain, enabling reporters to relay soldier stories back to their families at home. For his service during that time, Greg was awarded a Bronze Star.Greg, his wife, and their two children enjoy a number of outdoor activities. They like to catch a Braves game at Turner Field, spend a day at Lake Lanier or take their two dogs, Jordy and Cinnamon with them to the Georgia Mountains or to family in Florida.Send Greg an e-mail at gregory.majewski@cbs46.com
