Actor Kevin Hart has impromptu 5K in Piedmont Park

Actor and comedian Kevin Hart held an impromptu 5K in Piedmont Park Friday.

Hart is in town on his "What Now" tour.

He sent a tweet out Thursday night asking runners to join him for the 5K.

"Oh it makes me feel great. I see a bunch of people out here who are about to get it,” said Hart.

The last-minute runs are part of Hart's new partnership with wellness app Rally Health.

"For me it's about motivating people to do things they don't normally do, standing for something else. At the end of the day, I'm a comedian, but I love to live, I love to laugh and I think that's what's important. You can live. You can laugh," said Hart.

Hart's shows will be held at Phillips Arena, Friday night at 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
