A group of veterans honored one of our own this week. CBS46's Adam Murphy received an Americanism Patriot Award Tuesday from American Legion Post 233 in Loganville.

"You have honored veterans of all branches of service, our most sincere thanks," Chuck Bagley with American Legion Post 233 told Murphy.

The group recognized Adam's reporting efforts regarding the American flag being displayed incorrectly on the International Boulevard sign in downtown Atlanta.

"I went to the media to tell them what we had, at that time only one member of the media came forward and said you're not the only one to complain, we've had citizens groups. Can you meet me under the flag? That was Adam Murphy from CBS46," Bagley said.

After Adam exposed the problem, the sign was later changed and the flag was displayed correctly.

Atlanta Council Member Felicia Moore was also honored for her efforts.
